Killer Queen, Sacramento, CA
Killer Queen at the Crest Theatre Sacramento!
Killer Queen’s initial public performances were at London University, following in the footsteps of the original Queen, who had performed there decades before.
Killer Queen’s popularity in the UK rose to the point where they were able to get a residency at London’s Strand Theatre, which received national BBC coverage – the first homage to have a performance in the West End.
The band’s notoriety grew throughout the UK and beyond, culminating in an awards event in Leicester Square hosted by Suggs from Madness, who presented them with the “Worldwide Best Tribute Band” title. They also had a number-one hit when they were requested to reproduce Queen’s harmonies for “The Real Life” with Fatboy Slim.
They were suddenly in high demand in European stages, including Ahoy, where the newly reformed Queen would perform only a few months later. They were thrilled to sell out Forest National Arena, where Queen filmed concert set piece videos like Hammer To Fall and Don’t Stop Me Now.
Killer Queen then collaborated with Bjorn Again and The Bootleg Beatles for a Waverley Stadium event in Edinburgh. This performance earned the band the opportunity to represent Queen in a re-staged tribute LiveAid concert hosted by Sir Bob Geldof. They performed beside him at his arena charity concert to benefit the homeless.
In 2016, Killer Queen focused their eyes on America, particularly the breathtaking Red Rocks Arena in Colorado, one of the country’s most prominent venues. The Beatles, Springsteen, and U2 have all performed there, and the band is happy that it has become a regular stop on Killer Queen’s tour itinerary.
By 2020, the band was attracting large stadium crowds in Cardiff Motorpoint, Liverpool, and Nottingham. 2021 sees them back on the road, ready to surprise large audiences all around the world.
