Join us for the première of “Ain’t Samsāra a Bitch”. Lorrie Chang, a Chinatown resident and first-time screenwriter, created this short film, which was given to life via the cinematic vision of visual artist and director Ujjayini Sikha

.

When a Chinese American immigrant and ardent Buddhist arrives in the afterlife, she must reconsider her soul contracts, particularly her difficult connection with her daughter. Will she eventually be able to leave reincarnation?

The evening will include music, poetry, short films, and a Q&A with Samsāra’s cast and crew.
