The City to the Sea Half Marathon, sponsored by Running Warehouse, is a stunning point-to-point event that commences in the vibrant downtown area of San Luis Obispo. The route leads participants past notable local attractions, through beautiful rural roads, and along the scenic Bob Jones Trail, concluding at the Pacific Ocean’s edge in the delightful coastal town of Avila Beach.
CUESTA COLLEGE’S – CITY TO THE SEA HALF MARATHON & 5K
RUNNING WAREHOUSE – HALF MARATHON (13.1 MILES)
Half Marathon Start Time: November 16, 2025, 7:00 AM
Location: Downtown San Luis Obispo
The top 100 finishers of the event will receive a commemorative 2025 City to the Sea mug. All participants in the half marathon will be awarded a finisher’s medal and a custom event t-shirt to celebrate their achievement. After completing the race, runners can indulge in food for purchase and beverages—cheers for those aged 21 and over—with a complimentary beer on us!
AVILA – SEASIDE 5K (3.1 MILES)
The Avila-Seaside 5K features an out-and-back course, with approximately 75% of the path offering stunning views of the beach, harbor, and Pacific Ocean. Be on the lookout for sea lions, otters, and whales along the way. The course connects with the picturesque Bob Jones Trail before concluding at the beautiful Avila Beach Resort.
5K Start Time: November 16, 2025, 7:30 AM
Location: 6464 Ana Bay Rd, Avila Beach, CA 93424
All participants in the 5K will receive a finisher’s medal for 2025 and a custom t-shirt to celebrate their achievement. After finishing the race, runners can enjoy food available for purchase and beverages—cheers for those aged 21 and over—a celebratory beer is on us!
More Information
Upon completing the race, explore a lively array of community vendors while enjoying live music from a local band. You will have the opportunity to buy post-race snacks from Mulligan’s, or you may choose to wander into the delightful coastal village of Avila Beach to soak up the sun, enjoy a wine tasting, or take a stroll along the iconic Avila Pier. For half marathon participants, buses will provide transportation back to the starting line in San Luis Obispo. Alternatively, you may arrange your own private transportation if that is your preference.
Refund Policy
Please be aware that entry fees are non-refundable. However, we recognize that unforeseen circumstances may occur. If you reach out to us by October 27, 2025, we are pleased to offer a deferral of your registration to the 2026 event in cases of extenuating circumstances. We appreciate your understanding. Our aim is to provide flexible options while consistently delivering a high-quality experience year after year.
