Shaky Feelin’, Nevada City, CA
Shaky Feelin’ is one of the hottest jam bands on the west coast, and they’ll be launching the Crazy Horse into orbit on this occasion.
It’s always a big thing to see who will get the coveted New Year’s Eve gig at Crazy Horse. Shaky Feelin’ joins a lengthy list of legendary bands on this occasion. Following their electrifying performance at Rosebud Ranch this summer, the full-throttle jamband from Ventura, CA is the ideal musical agent to send us joyfully tumbling into 2025. They are driven by an abundance of positive energy, exceptional talent, and an insatiable desire to move audiences at their core.
Mark Masson’s creative guitar skills and tremendous vocal presence lead this band through one awe-inspiring moment after another. Masson, a card-carrying devotee of the Trey Anastasio school of badassery, transports listeners to the galaxy garden of delights with his soaring style and buttery tone. As the night progresses, they will channel the simmering energy into their collective well, propelling them deeper into the improvised vortex. We are confident that there will be moments when you will think, “I can’t believe how good these guys are!”
In addition to Phish, Shaky is heavily influenced by the Grateful Dead, String Cheese Incident, reggae, bluegrass, and all the best vintage rock. They are avid live music fans and have an innate grasp of what each event requires at any given time. Prepare for an all-out dance party as Jeff Hiller’s sophisticated bass grooves and Paul Menchaca’s polyrhythmic drumming create portals to alternative dimensions. Keyboardist Michael Berkey adds melodic, technicolor threads to the mix. It’s one of those “more than the sum of its parts” moments. Just what the doctor prescribed to combine all of the vibes from ’24 and transform them into something even more wonderful!
