Convoy embarks on its cultural journey with the first-ever Lunar New Year kickoff celebration held in the Convoy Cultural District. Sponsored by The Doan Foundation, Social Artistry, and Up 2 You Cafe, this event signifies the start of a new community tradition in one of San Diego’s most renowned Pan Asian business corridors.
This festival merges the vibrancy of a traditional street night market with a contemporary community gathering. Attendees are encouraged to arrive with appetites, as they can look forward to a diverse array of regional food vendors, curated cultural products, and small businesses showcasing unique items. The district will be alive with roaming performances, live lion dance displays by premier San Diego lion dance teams—Legendary Lion Dance and Southern Sea Dragon and Lion Dance—traditional drumming, night market lighting, vendor stalls, community art exhibits, and designated areas for families to come together, reconnect, and celebrate the new year in a manner that the community has long awaited.
