Comfort & Joy enthusiastically invites you to Afterglow New Year – Prism Palace, a queer New Year’s Eve masquerade party with wall-to-ceiling art, new queer friends and chosen family, and gender-bending performative fun.
Prism Palace is part two of Comfort & Joy’s Once Upon a Queer Fairytale. We shall celebrate the New Year in a neon crystal wonderland. Tonight we enter a “mask-queerade” where it’s Mask for Mask, so put on your mask and gay rococo attire and dance until the disco balls drop. Masks are strongly suggested to get into the spirit. We will have some available, or you may bring your own.
In the life of a queer person, we frequently filter our acts to meet societal norms. These filters act as prisms for our experience and masks that conceal. On New Year’s Eve, we all unmask and stand strong in our shared vulnerability.
Comfort and Joy are available for you! If you ever need help, see someone who does, or have any other problems at one of our events, please approach one of our ‘vibe-raters’ (purple glow collars) or a house manager and communicate.
