An urban adventure game played in the colorful neighborhoods of Chinatown and North Beach with the Chinese New Year Parade as a backdrop.
The Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt is a one-of-a-kind urban adventure game set in the vibrant streets of Chinatown, North Beach, Telegraph Hill, and the Financial District, all against the backdrop of the annual Chinese New Year Parade. It’s a scavenger hunt for information in which teams work together to solve clues that lead to off-the-beaten-path destinations associated with local history, art, and culture. Teams that solve the most clues in the shortest amount of time will win prizes and bragging rights.
The treasure hunt is totally outdoors, on foot, rain or shine.
A portion of the revenues will help Walk San Francisco and Circuit Network on behalf of Thrillride Mechanics, the resident clowns of Z Space.
Prizes are also given to teams with the cleverest names, which are usually puns about the Chinese zodiac (2025 is the Year of the Snake), current events, or culture. There is a special category for Noir-Themed team names based on cinema noir or hardboiled detective fiction.
