The Planets, An Immersive Dance, Music and Space Experience, Twentynine Palms, CA

Experience world-class live music, community-powered dance, artwork by a local artist, and fascinating cosmic information from on-site astronomers!

Dance Mojave is delighted to announce that we have received funding from Visit 29 Palms to stage THE PLANETS at the Sky’s the Limit Observatory campus in May!

This outdoor spectacle combines world-class live music and community-powered dancing with breathtaking night sky views over our lovely desert. Enjoy an evening of dances dedicated to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune set to Holst’s “The Planets,” with original music by Jeremie Levi Samson completing the suite for the Asteroid Belt and Pluto. After the event, audience members can meet with astronomers on-site who have telescopes to see the sky!

This immersive 75-minute show will take place throughout the observatory campus. The audience will be allowed to move around as the dances take place in various areas, allowing them to observe the scenery and the show from various angles. Seating is available on-site, although we prefer that visitors bring their own lightweight chair.

Dance Mojave is pleased to be collaborating with Visit 29 Palms to bring more people to the area with this show. As part of our efforts, we will aim to assist out-of-town attendees in making the most of their time in Twentynine Palms. Find the top hotels, vacation rentals, and RV accommodations in Twentynine Palms, all within minutes of Sky’s The Limit Observatory and Nature Center. Begin organizing your journey at Visit29.org/Stay!

Ticket prices for the event will be $30 per car, allowing more than one individual to participate for that price. This is to ensure that we don’t exceed the venue’s parking capacity.
