My Heros Have Always Killed Colonizers, A Night to Honor Resistance ft. Sihasin & Ruby Ibarra

My Heros Have Always Killed Colonizers is a concert dedicated to honoring every global Indigenous warrior who has defended the land, the people, and traditional ways.

This impactful evening showcases Sihasin and Ruby Ibarra, two pioneering artists whose music embodies the spirit of resistance across generations and borders. Through live performances and movement building, we pay tribute to those who continue to rise against colonial violence and advocate for sovereignty, land rematriation, and collective liberation.

Join us in building power on the evening before our annual Thangs Taken: Rethinking Thanksgiving – La Peña’s yearly celebration of Indigenous resistance and resurgence.

This concert will be standing room only. Limited seating will be available for those who require it.

Which colonizers have your heroes stood against?

This event honors the legendary Center for Political Education event of the same name from the mid-2010s, revived in partnership with some of its original organizers and artists.

This event is supported by Indigenous Justice.
