saxophonist Michael Lington continues to push boundaries and inspire, riding a new wave of remarkable success with his latest (and 32nd overall) single “South Bay.” This track from his 2023 EP Looking Ahead has maintained the #1 position on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Airplay chart for six consecutive weeks and has also reached #1 on all other charts within the genre, including Mediabase, Smoothjazznetwork, and Radiowave/groovemusic simultaneously.
Lington is actively involved in various charitable endeavors, including performing fundraising concerts for the Children’s Starlight Foundation. He has recently initiated a special guest concert series titled “Sax To Soul” at Spaghettini Jazz Club in Seal Beach, CA, which begins with his own performance and subsequently features his special guests. This year, the lineup includes: Brian Culbertson, Regina Belle, Howard Hewett, and Marcus Miller.
