They are the most captivating band in the UK, and their live performances bring people together in unclassifiable jams and a spiritual experience. Imagine free jazz and post-punk combined with rap-inspired lyrics that focus entirely on the message.
Maruja, which is force-of-nature music that originated in a place of spirituality and protest and has a strong four-way friendship at its heart, is created by combining the hair-raising sounds of brutal breakbeats, gnarly guitar loops, transcendent sax, and psychedelic bass flourishes.
They are well-known throughout the world; BBC 6 Music loves them, and they recently sold out their first-ever North American tour and dominated SXSW. They will be visiting China and Japan in May after touring 24 countries in 2024.
The band is presently polishing up their debut album after signing with Music For Nations.
