Grupo Bryndis, Industria, Guardianes, San Jose Civic Center, San Jose, CA
Grupo Bryndis is a revered, Grammy-winning icon in the realm of Mexican popular music, particularly within the grupero genre.
They skillfully blend elements of Mexican cumbia, pop, and banda. With millions of recordings sold, they continue to captivate audiences with sold-out tours across Mexico, the United States, and Central and South America. Their motto since inception has been “the group that sings of love.” The ensemble originated in Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Grupo Bryndis dedicated years to performing locally and regionally while composing their own songs, in addition to interpreting traditional music, popular songwriters, and the works of their contemporaries.
In 1994, they achieved their most successful breakthrough with the album Por el Amor, which attained gold status that same year. Their success was marked by a series of chart-topping singles and albums, establishing them as a highly sought-after touring act. Their music enjoyed significant sales throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s. Notable charting singles include “Te Vas con El,” “La Última Canción,” “Otro Ocupa Mi Lugar,” “El Quinto Trago,” “Atrás de Mi Ventana,” “Te Esperaré,” “Quizás Sí, Quizás No,” “La Chica del Este,” “Perdóname,” “Entre Tú y Yo,” “Secreto Amor,” and “La Chica del Este.” For each studio album, live recordings and/or various hits collections were released, some of which included new tracks as bonus content. Their sound evolved as they incorporated more romantic songs into their repertoire; they became more refined with age, attracting new fans while retaining their long-time followers. In 2007, the band was honored with a Latin Grammy for Solo Pienso en Ti. The lead single, “Doy la Vida por un Beso,” quickly ascended the charts, reaching the Top Ten.
