Banda Sin Nombre merges folk music from diverse cultures with performance art, drag, and dance. Originating from the Mission District in San Francisco, the band showcases rich vocal harmonies accompanied by acoustic instruments such as guitar, fiddle, accordion, charango, jarana, cajon, and upright bass. Their musical influences span from Peruvian chicha to Catalan rumba, Appalachian old-time music, and Cumbia.

Having played together for a decade, Banda Sin Nombre has cultivated a dedicated fan base in the Bay Area, performing at events like the Stern Grove Festival, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, the New Parish in Oakland, MACLA in San Jose, and numerous venues in San Francisco, including The Chapel, the Boom Boom Room, Amnesia, El Rio, Cafe Revolution, Elbo Room, Brava Theater, Mission Cultural Center, Red Poppy Art House, and Club Deluxe. The band has also established creative collaborations with interdisciplinary artists both locally and through international tours in Spain and Latin America.
