Didier Bouvet & Joey T, Live Music, Las Positas Vineyards, Livermore, CA

Didier Bouvet, a native of Mauritius, formerly known as “I’Isle de France,” began his journey with the English language at the age of seven and picked up the guitar at eight.

Didier Bouvet & Joey T perform your beloved Classic Rock and Smooth Latin Jazz.

Coming from a lineage of distinguished classical composers and pianists on his father’s side, he found the latter to be a more natural pursuit. His initial self-taught explorations were casual, but after relocating to the United States, he was inspired by the works of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Frank Marino, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, and Allan Holdsworth, all of whom he studied with great dedication. Following high school, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and spent the next decade honing his guitar skills under the tutelage of virtuoso Marc Bonilla, who has collaborated with notable figures such as Ronnie Montrose, Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple. While Bonilla has since relocated to Los Angeles to advance his career as a film and television composer, Didier has remained in the Bay Area, establishing himself as a full-time guitarist, studio musician, composer, and educator.

His versatility in playing various musical styles has opened doors to numerous studio and performance opportunities. His performances have been prominently featured with the internationally recognized vertical dance company Project Bandaloop in San Francisco, Oregon, and at the Banff Centre for Arts in Alberta, Canada. His dynamic and passionate acoustic guitar performances are prominently showcased on the recently released CD, “Despi A Alma,” by the internationally celebrated Portuguese fado artist, Ramana Vieira. To further enhance his improvisational abilities, he has participated in multiple seasons with San Francisco’s longest-running theater improv group, Flash Family. Although he has specialized in unique events, his musical adaptability has recently allowed him to collaborate with Latin jazz, Caribbean (soca), rumba flamenco, hard rock, and blues ensembles throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
