With a sound characterized as both wistful and impressionistic, the Italian-born, California-based singer-songwriter, Daniela Galasso (known as Dani), is gaining recognition for her unique style of indie pop—an ethereal blend of dream pop and folktronica—featuring imaginative and reflective storytelling, atmospheric textures, and a refined aesthetic.
Dani’s journey began humbly at the age of five, when she started to decipher complex melodies by ear on her toy piano. This early curiosity blossomed into her becoming a skilled singer-songwriter, earning notable accolades such as 2nd Place in Indie International’s 2022 Songwriting Contest in the Pop Category for her song, “Yesterday’s Story,” a semi-finalist position in ISC’s competition for her track, “Sway,” and multiple honorable mentions for her song, “Embers.”
Dani draws from a diverse array of musical influences, including artists like Taylor Swift, Sia, Ellie Goulding, Illenium, Imogen Heap, and Maggie Rogers.
By blending intellect and emotion, and addressing the profound aspects of life, Dani enriches her music with lyrical and ideological depth, accompanied by enchanting sounds that transport listeners to other realms, seamlessly merging imagination with reality.
