The transformation of Boot Juice has been a remarkable spectacle to witness in recent years. This seven-member ensemble from Davis has adhered to traditional methods – acquiring everything they possess through hard work, dedication, and perseverance demonstrated on stages across the region.
The effort has been predominantly physical, given the almost superhuman level of energy they exert during their unyielding performances.
Boot Juice challenges the common belief that a large band featuring horns is merely following the conventional routes of funk and jazz. While they certainly incorporate elements of those genres, above all, they represent a bold cosmic rock band determined to transport audiences to an alternate realm of unadulterated freedom and dance ecstasy, where the outside world fades away. Their three-part vocal harmonies deliver significant impact, infused with captivating elements of soul, blues, and sultry charm. The fervent musicianship and collective synergy resonate with a genuine sense of joy. With favorable comparisons to the sound of The California Honey Drops and the essence of the Talking Heads, it is clear that the innovative originality of Boot Juice consistently maintains a strong hold on the direction of their music.
