Memorial Day Intro to Kintsugi Class, The Japanese Art of Kintsugi, Los Angeles, CA
Learn to fix broken pieces of pottery that you will shatter yourself in order to appreciate its beauty. Beginner friendly!
Kintsugi is a Japanese method of restoring damaged pottery that involves fusing the cracks together and emphasizing them with gold.
Kintsugi embraces the Wabi-Sabi concept, which celebrates the beauty of imperfection.
We appreciate the practice’s sustainability, which involves transforming what would otherwise be useless waste into a one-of-a-kind and exquisite work of art. It is a fun and useful skill that you will use throughout your life!
Come enjoy a fun and casual atmosphere while learning everything you need to know to make your own Kintsugi masterpieces! Our Kintsugi session, taught by a trained artisan, breaks down the intricate elements of the process, so you will leave not just with a gorgeous piece you crafted, but with the skills and confidence to practice Kintsugi on your own.All tools and materials are provided, as well as a ceramic piece that you get to break yourself (fun!).
