India Independence Day Parade, Downtown San Jose, CA
On August 9, 2025, San Jose will have a parade and community festival to mark India’s 79th Independence Day.
The Parade and Celebrations will be organized by the Association of Indo-Americans in partnership with Bolly 92.3 FM and other diaspora organizations.
The procession will begin at 4:00 p.m. from 333 W San Fernando Street and end at Discovery Meadow Park, with over 50 decorated cars and pedestrian groups. Participants may bring their own vehicles decorated with US and Indian flags, with event organizers offering additional flags and the ability to display organizational banners. Individuals can participate in the parade by bringing a decorated vehicle or walking in groups, showing community cooperation and cultural heritage.
The event’s schedule is as follows:
• Parade Vehicle Arrival: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
• Dignitaries’ Meeting: 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM
• Parade route: 333 W San Fernando St to 4 Vine St. • Flag hoisting ceremony: 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
