Join us on November 15th for a particularly remarkable evening that will not only celebrate the end of the Bhangra & Beats night market 2024 season, but also a historic milestone as the City of San Francisco’s first official Diwali celebration. This event is extremely special because it coincides with Non Stop Bhangra’s 20th anniversary, resulting in a night of celebration, culture, and community unlike any other.
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important celebrations in South Asian culture. It represents the triumph of light over darkness, righteousness over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is a time for family, friends, and communities to gather in joy and appreciation, marked by the lighting of lamps, fireworks, and the sharing of sweets.
For this special Diwali edition, the night market will include a variety of South Asian merchants and food, highlighting the region’s rich diversity and lively flavors. All of the music for the evening will be rooted in Indian traditions, with Non Stop Bhangra leading the way and special guest performers contributing to the mix, resulting in an immersive cultural experience stretched over two stages.
Prepare for an extraordinary experience as three city blocks are transformed into a dynamic cultural nightlife destination and marketplace, framed by the gorgeous Downtown San Francisco skyline. Enjoy amazing South Asian street food, drink on crisp beverages, and explore over 30+ distinct local artisans and stores offering rare Indian handicrafts, San Francisco-made jewelry, clothes, and personal care products and arts.
