The USS Hornet Sea, Air, and Space Museum is pleased to announce CarrierCon, an event featuring cosplay, tabletop gaming, and Western and Japanese media. CarrierCon allows people of all ages to express their passion of cosplay and pop culture media while also helping a Bay Area local museum.
We’ve got guest panelists, a cash prize for our cosplay contest, an overnight add-on, and more!
The USS Hornet Sea, Air, and Space Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that uses the historic aircraft carrier USS Hornet, as well as its collections, displays, and educational programming, to raise awareness and understanding of history, science, technology, and service. All proceeds from CarrierCon benefit the USS Hornet Sea, Air, and Space Museum.
CarrierCon allows the Museum to engage with new audiences and raise awareness of the Hornet Museum. It was founded and is operated by Museum staff and volunteers to bring together and share our and our guests’ interests in popular culture and history. Pop culture icons from movies, television shows, and video games have all drawn heavily on military and Navy ships, uniforms, and general aesthetics, and we’re happy to show you why when you come onboard for cosplay photography and general enjoyment! CarrierCon exists to both teach about these influences and celebrate popular culture.
