Umoja Community Education Foundation presents the Summer Learning Institute 2025

The Summer Learning Institute (SLI) is an intense institute for Umoja Community Program instructors, staff, and management. The course teaches attendees about the Umoja Community Education Foundation’s philosophy, methodology, theoretical foundations, and best practices. Educators from California Community Colleges have the opportunity to engage in gutsy and bold discussions regarding educational techniques that foster our students’ genius. Participants are encouraged to participate in college teams of five to promote more intentional information exchange and coherence at their individual universities. Examples of the subject taught at the SLI include program structure and implementation, critical investigation of African-centered socialization and education, student success measures and data-based techniques, and exploration of Umoja practices.
