2025 Kern County Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Conference
The Independent Living Center of Kern County (ILCKC) is pleased to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act by sponsoring a conference on Thursday, July 24th at the Bakersfield Marriott, 801 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301.
This event recognizes the significance of this landmark law and offers advocates, community members, and corporate leaders the opportunity to discuss accessibility concerns affecting persons with disabilities. It also acts as a networking and collaboration platform, allowing guests to influence positive change in Kern County.
Conference Speakers and Topics
Jan Garrett, Deputy Director of ADA Programs at the Pacific ADA Center, will present on identifying and removing non-physical barriers to accessibility.
Christina N. Teixeira, an attorney in the California Civil Rights Department’s Executive Programs Division, will speak on breaking barriers and understanding the disability rights complaint process.

Panelists from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, and the California Commission on Disability Access, Fennemore Law
Panel Topic: Accessibility Compliance Fund.
