Robby Hoffman, Netflix Is A Joke Fest, Largo At The Coronet, Los Angeles, CA

Robby Hoffman is an Emmy-winning writer, an Emmy-nominated actor, and a comedian whose career encompasses stand-up, television, and podcasting.

In 2025, her inaugural Netflix stand-up special, Robby Hoffman: WAKE UP, directed by John Mulaney, was released worldwide. Upon the announcement of their partnership, Mulaney remarked, “No one has owned a stage like her since James Brown.” She is currently featured in Season 4 of HBO’s Hacks, where she received a 2025 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, and is presently in production for Season 5.

In 2025, Hoffman appeared alongside Michelle Williams in FX’s critically acclaimed limited series Dying for Sex and was recognized as one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch,” building on the momentum from her breakout performance on Netflix’s Verified. She is in the process of developing Unentitled at HBO, a new series for which she is writing, executive producing, and set to star in, and she is also slated for a significant role in the forthcoming HBO series Rooster, created by Steve Carell and Bill Lawrence. In addition to her screen endeavors, she hosts the Patreon podcast Too Far with Robby Hoffman.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in a large Hasidic Jewish family before relocating to Montreal, Hoffman draws from her ex-Hasidic, queer, and working-class experiences, employing a complaint-driven style that The New York Times characterized as “bulldozing stand-up,” likening her to Larry David and referring to her as “a modern lesbian Andrew ‘Dice’ Clay,” while also describing her podcast Too Far as “an addictive listen.” Robby received a Daytime Emmy for her contributions to the PBS series Odd Squad and for her writing on acclaimed series such as Baroness von Sketch Show and Workin’ Moms.

She has been celebrated as “the future of comedy” by The Daily Beast, recognized as “an original comic talent” by The Wall Street Journal, and described as a “delightful oddball” by The Hollywood Reporter, while Decider noted that “to witness her performance is to see someone who stands out so distinctly from her contemporaries.”
