Guy Branum is the creator and host of truTV’s Talk Show The Game Show, a comedic blend of two cherished television formats that challenges comedians and celebrities to compete for the title of “Best Guest of the Night.”
He appeared in the Universal romantic comedy BROS alongside Billy Eichner and contributed as a writer for the new Mel Brooks variety series History of the World, Part II, working with Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, and Ike Barinholtz.
Additionally, you can see him in the Apple series Platonic featuring Rose Byrne and Seth Rogan. His published work, My Life As A Goddess, is a compilation of humorous and insightful essays, praised by Kirkus Reviews as “Wickedly smart, funny and witty,” and it was recently included in NPR’s 2018 Good Reads List and Entertainment Weekly’s Must List. You might also recognize him from his recurring segment “No More Mr. Nice Gay” on Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, where he served as the “Staff Homosexual” on Chelsea Lately, and his role as Natalie Portman’s flamboyant gay friend in the film No Strings Attached. Noticing a pattern? In his capacity as a TV writer, Guy was a supervising producer on Comedy Central’s acclaimed show The Other Two. He dedicated three seasons to writing for Hulu’s The Mindy Project and was a producer during the final season of the show. His other television writing credits encompass A League of Their Own from Amazon, Punk’d and Awkward on MTV, Another Period on Comedy Central, Billy on the Street on truTV, and Fashion Police on E! He has held the position of Co-EP on the Netflix animated series Q-Force, the live-action pandemic comedy Connecting on NBC, and the UNT. Baldwin/Grammer comedy series for ABC. Recently, he contributed to the upcoming third season of HACKS and has several television projects in development with NBC and ABC.
