Best recognized as the star and executive producer of the popular series, THE CARBONARO EFFECT on truTV, Michael Carbonaro has also made numerous television appearances in programs such as Happily Divorced, 30 Rock, Grey’s Anatomy, and CSI Miami.
A magician since his childhood, Carbonaro pursued studies in experimental theater at New York University with the goal of entertaining audiences through various theatrical forms, including hidden-camera magic, which he later frequently displayed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
After Carbonaro’s regular late-night show appearances, Michael was given the chance to create his successful comedic series, “The Carbonaro Effect,” which has aired for over 100 episodes on truTV. A trickster by nature, Michael performs creative tricks on unsuspecting members of the public who are oblivious to his identity as a magician. Spectators are left in awe when he makes a car vanish right before a security guard’s eyes or transforms alien crabs into kittens in a laboratory setting. Whether he is acting as a coffee shop barista, a museum curator, or an apparently ordinary store clerk in the REAL world, Carbonaro’s illusions – combined with his absurd, straightforward explanations – leave REAL individuals astonished and families at home in fits of laughter.
Michael frequently displays his extraordinary antics and astonishing magic at corporate events and through his highly praised national theater tours.
