Alok, Netflix Is A Joke Fest, Pacific Electric, Los Angeles, CA
ALOK (they/them) is a poet, comedian, public speaker, and actor of international acclaim. ALOK’s literary contributions, including “Beyond the Gender Binary,” “Femme in Public,” and “Your Wound, My Garden,” have received worldwide recognition.
Their vibrant presence has enchanted audiences across more than 40 countries, featuring sold-out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Netflix is a Joke Festival. ALOK’s inaugural comedy special, BIOLOGY! [alokvmenon.com], was produced under the executive guidance of Christopher Guest. They are also the focus of the docu-short “ALOK,” which was executive produced by Jodie Foster and directed by Alex Hedison, premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024. Additionally, they appear in Complicated Order, The Trans List, and the upcoming Absolute Dominion. On television, ALOK can be seen in HBO’s Sex Lives of College Girls, Sort Of, and Random Acts of Flyness, as well as Hulu’s Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne, and Netflix’s Gender Agenda Comedy Special and Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness.
