The Preserve’s Unique Setting

The preserve is located at 6350 W Main St in Guadalupe, 12 minutes from Santa Maria. It spans three miles of coastline, from the Santa Maria River to Mussel Rock. The towering dunes, some of which reach over 500 feet, provide a spectacular environment. The Santa Maria River Estuary enhances ecological diversity.

It’s open every day from 7 a.m. to sundown and free to enter. There are no designated trails, providing a raw, unguided experience. Seasonal limitations help safeguard nesting birds.
